You never open a terminal.

The first time you open the app it looks at your Mac, shows you exactly what it is going to install, and waits. Nothing happens until you say go. Same on Apple Silicon and Intel, and safe to run again if anything goes wrong.

it installs these for you

  • Homebrew so that the normal way Macs install tools. Only if it is not already there.
  • tmux so that each worker runs inside one.
  • bun so that what the deck itself is built on.
  • git so that keeps a snapshot of each project so nothing is lost.
  • Claude Code so that the agent a Claude worker actually is.
  • OpenAI Codex so that GPT workers can run beside the Claude ones. Optional, and skipped if you do not want it.

it may ask you for

  • Your Mac password. The one you use to unlock this Mac, once, and only if Homebrew is missing. Do not want to type it? It sets up a private copy in your own home folder instead and carries on.
  • A window from Apple offering to install their developer tools. Click Install and leave it running. It is a few gigabytes.
  • Your browser, once, to sign in to Claude. If you want GPT workers too, you sign in to OpenAI the same way afterwards.

Most people arrive with Claude, so that is the path the installer walks by default. If ChatGPT is the account you have, install Codex and skip Claude Code. That combination is newer, so if anything looks off, write to support@e2ailabs.com and we will sort it out.

Before you start

A Mac

Any modern Mac, Apple Silicon (M series) or Intel. The installer picks the right build automatically.

An AI subscription

A Claude account (Pro or Max) or a ChatGPT account for Codex workers. Either one is enough on its own, and with both you pick which one runs each worker. The deck runs on youraccount, so you stay in control of your usage and your data.

Install it (about 2 minutes)

Download the app

Grab it from the box at the top of this page (a one-time $10, or a friend code). It is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens with no scary warnings.

Open it and drag to Applications

Double-click the downloaded file, then drag E2 Control Deck into your Applications folder.

Launch it

Open E2 Control Deck from Applications. The first time, a small window shows it setting things up. Just leave it open.

Log in to Claude

Your browser opens once so you can sign in to your Claude account. That connects the deck to your plan. That is it. The deck opens in your browser at 127.0.0.1:7878.

Create your first worker

Name a task

Click + Create, give it a name (like “Website copy” or “Research competitors”), and pick a Model and Effort on the right. High effort is a great everyday default.

Open the chat and tell it what you want

Click Open Chat and type your request like you’re texting a smart assistant. Press Enter to send.

Let it run, then add more

It works on its own. Create as many workers as you like. Several run side by side, as many at a time as your Mac can handle, and the rest start on their own as slots free up.

Getting the most out of it

Steer mid-task

Type while a worker is running to redirect it on the fly. It reads your note at its next step, like nudging a teammate.

STOP anytime

The STOP button halts a worker cleanly and saves its place, then asks what you need next.

Change model & effort

In a card’s ⋯ menu, pick Model & effort to switch a worker between speed and depth. The card shows what it’s set to.

Launch a swarm

Describe a big goal in the Goal → Swarm box and the deck spins up a team that plans, splits the work, and coordinates itself.

Mission mode 🌙

Turn it on (in the ⋯ menu) and a worker keeps going on its own when it goes idle, which is good for overnight jobs.

It remembers

Workers keep their memory across restarts and updates, so you never lose your place. The deck updates itself in the background.

Something not working?

If a worker ever seems stuck, hit the ⚡ WAKE button on its card. It un-sticks it without losing memory. The deck also self-heals most hiccups on its own.
